Mazda Brake Master Cylinder
The Mazda brake master cylinder is the storage component of brake fluid in the
hydraulic braking system. To further maximize safety, the brake systems in modern
cars are broken into two circuits, each with two wheels. In the event that a fluid
leak occurs in any of these two circuits, only two wheels will lose their brakes
and therefore your car could still stop as you step on the brake pedal. The Mazda
brake master cylinder is responsible for supplying pressure to both circuits of
the car. It employs two pistons in the same cylinder in such a way that it makes
the cylinder relatively reliable. You will be warned by the combination valve
if there is a trouble with your Mazda auto parts especially with your brake system.
It will also do a couple of stuffs to make your car safer to use. The primary
piston is pushed on through a linkage as you pressed the brake pedal.

In the cylinder, the pressure is built and lined as the brake pedal is further
depressed. Now, the secondary piston is forced down by the existing pressure between
the primary and secondary pistons to compress the fluid in its circuit. The pressure
will be the same in both circuits if the brakes are working properly. The presence
of leak in one of the circuits will make the circuit not capable of maintaining
the pressure. Also, the pressure between the primary and secondary cylinders is
lost if the first circuit leaks. This then prompts the primary cylinder to contact
the secondary cylinder. The cylinder head now behaves assuming as if it has only
one piston. Here, the second circuit may normally function, although you have
to press the pedal further to activate it. And since there are only two wheels
that have pressure, expect a reduction in the stopping power.
There will come a time that your Mazda brake master cylinder will wear out and
therefore will need replacement. Actually, this job is not hard, but removing
the air from the system can be difficult. You may decide to remove all the rubbish
in the chassis leg and apply some anti rust agent while the master cylinder head
is out. It is a fiddle to get the union back in the end. Most likely, it is easier
to drop the cylinder into the chassis. Fit the pipe and the cylinder in properly.
