Mazda Tie Rod End
The Mazda tie rod end is basically a steering linkage and steering knuckle pivot
support. It couples the center link into the steering knuckle on vehicles with
conventional suspension systems and recirculating ball steering gears. It works
together with the ball joints in maintaining a stable movement when the vehicle
is steered left and right, keeping it fixed even when the vehicle hits a bump
which causes the wheels to move up and down. The entire tie rod assembly is responsible
for transferring force from the steering link or the rack gear to the steering
knuckle, allowing the wheels to be turned. It ensures a coordinated movement between
the wheels and the steering mechanism.
The Mazda tie rod ends are composed of the outer and inner tie rod ends. The
outer tie rod ends connects with an adjusting sleeve, allowing the length of the
entire tie rod to be adjustable. This adjustment is critical in setting the vehicle’s
toe, which is an important alignment angle. It is connected to the steering knuckle
which is the actual responsible for turning the front wheels. The steering knuckle
comprises the upper and lower ball joint where it pivots on in order to create
the geometry of the steering axis. On the other hand, the inner tie rod ends are
attached at either ends of the center link and acts as sufficient pivot points
for the steering gear.
The entire steering system works by allowing the wheels to turn at exactly the
same rate and along the same plane at all conditions. The Mazda tie rod together
with the ball joint will see to it that the wheels are rigidly held for optimal
traction. These allow better and smooth steering, providing full vehicle control.
In case of damaged tie rod ends, an incremental drop in steering efficiency may
result. This can cause abnormal tire wear, wandering and unpredictable steering.
When this happens, the entire steering system may render inefficient and it is
a must to have it immediately corrected.
Your vehicle’s steering system should be routinely inspected or at least have
it thoroughly checked once a year along with a complete wheel alignment. A worn
out tie rod end can pose great problems in your vehicle so it is necessary to
have it replaced. When replacing it, have it done by a service professional to
ensure that the vheicle’s toe setting is not disturbed.
The Mazda tie rod end is made to directly replace and restore damaged and inefficient
OEM tie rod ends. It is constructed from highly durable materials to ensure that
peak performance, efficiency, reliability, and long life are delivered. It can
perform even under extreme conditions so drive quality is guaranteed. This provides
full steering support, allowing maximum vehicle control, good handling, and solid
drivability. Mazda auto parts are an extensive line where Mazda tie rod end is
a component.
